Unfortunately hair loss is the same in both over or under also if she is taking medicine like synthroid to control it, it also can cause hair loss as well. I haven’t heard of anything other then Rogaine but maybe there is something better there is this one stuff I seen but dont know whether it really works or not. Its called scalpmed tell your mom I feel her pain thyroid disorder is not only annoying but also can be depressing at times. Good luck with finding something though. Oh and tell your mom to check out this website it has a program that is awesome for us in the way of reducing the thyroid affects. http://www.womentowomen.com.

When I'm with a woman I avoid doing too many u-turns under the sheets, Used to rub the hair right off the top of my head ! Notice I wear a hard hat ALL the time now. LOL HA HA HA !

Tell your mother to go see her GP and ask to be referred to a Tricoligist (hair loss specialist). This happened to me years ago, after the birth of my second child.
