Men: As your hair thinned, did you grow it longer to cover up the bald area or shave it?

My hair in the front is starting to thin like crazy and I have noticed that some men will grow their hair longer to keep the bald area covered up. Others will shave it off or cut it really short in a buzz cut to make it less noticeable.

Men with thinning hair in the front. What have you done:

Combed it straight forward to hide the bald area

Grew it longer to hide the bald area

Buzzed it off?

my hair is thinning right above my forehead in the middle. It is also thinning on the right side of my head in one little spot. I am in the process of growing it out in hopes it will conceal the thinning. It isnt noticable very much but whenever i put it to direct light or look in the mirror i can see it. My hairline is also receding. I am going to grow mine out. I think if you grow it out it will get overlapped with hair. I think the hair will disguise it for the most part if not fully. But if you do wind up having it cut short or whatever, keep in mind you are you regardless and not your hair, thats what i keep telling myself. Best bet is to turn the volume up on your personality and be cooler than everyone under every and any circumstance. Thats what im a do when the day comes. Whether its tomorrow or twenty years. Best luck to you.

I keep it cut short, but long enough to cover a lot of empty space.
    (about 1 1/2 " – 2" long)

My husband started out with buzzing it shorter, I then was able to convince him to just start shaving it.

From a woman’s point of view I think men who accept they are balding and choose to shave their head much more attractive because they are not trying to hide their baldness.
    Confidence is attractive.
So go for it Shave it if you have a nice shaped head.

I just accepted it and stayed the same, maybe I keep it a little longer, sure it’s a little thinner but it’s gray also so no big deal. It always looks to phony to cover it up by the comb over so accept what comes, thinning hair is only one thing you have to look forward to while getting older. I would tell you the rest, but why spoil the surprise, remember your not alone, we’re all in this together.

please, please, please do not grow it out to cover it up. Buzz it off if you have to but it will look silly if you try to cover it up. If a woman doesn’t like a bald guy, then too bad for her. I would much rather see a man with a bald head then a comb over.
